Postnatal Care
As women we have a unique capacity to shapeshift over our entire lifetime. Our physical state reflects an emotional capacity to hold limitless and expansive space, to protect and repel. I watch women go through immense pain, love and great depths. I teach women the wisdom to discern what she needs and the agency to take action and stand up for her own wellbeing.
Postnatal Yoga
Movement isn’t just a tool for fitness and physical health. A little movement, even a conscious breath, goes a long way to finding pause, space and peace. We can use movement and somatic practices to come back to ourselves and hear what we need to hear.
I teach my postnatal clients to listen for the pauses amongst the daily chaos, to feel deeply into any little pockets of quiet and calm, wherever and whenever they find them. With repetition, we can stretch these moments and strengthen our access to them, inviting more safety and ease into our lives no matter what is going on.
Some gentle movement can shift stagnation, your mood and energy. It’s an absolute luxury and a delicious symbol of self-love.
You are not alone
You might be surprised how many people are ready to help - whatever help means to you. It doesn’t have to look glamorous, you might have to raise your voice and ask, but please do. Because it makes those of us who are able to offer help, feel purposeful and connected to humanity.
How can yoga help
I still pinch myself that women share their journey into motherhood with me. It’s such an intimate relationship at a pivotal point in someone’s life and I’m able to be their confidant and cheerleader every step of the way. I love watching a woman’s hope and joy as she grows, the softness and strength she internalizes before birth and bearing witness to the bond she grows with her child.
